Lycium barbarum 枸杞子 Gǒu qǐ zǐ Wolfberry fruit- “Wolfberry” comes about because the character gou is related to the one that means dog or wolf. Family: Solanaceae
Wolfberry species are deciduous woody perennial plants, growing 1–3 m high. L. barbarum is grown in the north, primarily in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and tends to be somewhat taller. They are labled as "Ningxia Wolfberry Fruit", in the market. They have similar indications to L. chinense- Gou Qi zi.
