Liniments are a mixture of infused medicinal herbs and essential oils in a base of water, oil or alcohol. They are used topically to increase circulation and improve healing in cases of painful or stiff muscles and joints. Indications range from bruising and strains of sport injuries to pain and aches of rheumatism and arthritis. Creams treat skin conditions topically.
