Bergamot oil is expressed from the fresh peel of the bergamot tree fruit, which resemble small oranges. Bergamot provides the fruity flavour of Earl Grey tea, and was made popular by the perfume industry. It's light, floral and refreshing. Bergamot's fresh, flowery fragrance brings great relief to those who are stressed, fatigued, depressed, anxious or suffer from nervous tension. It is calming and uplifting at the same time, and is also useful in relieving premenstrual tension. Bergamot also has soothing and antiseptic properties, relieves oily skin conditions, acne, dermatitis or abrasions.
*Bergamot oil should only be applied to the skin diluted in a carrier oil to avoid sensitivity. Bergamot is phototoxic to the skin, and should not be applied to the skin prior to sun exposure.
Refreshing vapourizer mix: 2 drops Bergamot, 2 drops Grapefruit and 2 drops Cedar.
