FUNCTIONS
GROUP: Tonify Yang
1. Warms and tonifies the Kidney Yang, tonifies the Qi.
INDICATIONS
1. Kidney Yang deficiency: Lumbago, edema, cold sensation in the loins and back, polyuria, or nocturnal polyuria, cold exttremities, pale complexion, fatigue, lassitdue of loins and knees, T-enlarged and moist P- feeble. There may also be urinary difficulty with edema, incontinence, enuresis, dribbling or urine. Women:thin and profuse vaginal discharge, thin profuse and brown menstrual flow. Prolong use for general weakness.
APPLICATIONS: Diabetes, hyperaldosteronism, hypothyroidism, neurasthenia, chronic nephritis, chronic urethritis, chronic bronchitis, asthma, pulmonary emphysema, urinary retention, climacteric syndromes.
INGREDIENTS
Rehmannia glutinosa- 熟地黃 Shú Dì Huáng- Cooked Rehmannia
Codonopsis pilosula- 党参 Dǎng shēn  Codonopsis root
Paeonia suffruticosa- 牡丹皮 Mǔ dān pí- Tree peony
Dioscorea oppositifolia 山药 Shān Yao- Chinese Yam
Cinnamomum cassia- 肉桂 Ròu guì- Bastard Cinnamon
Cornus officinalis- 山茱萸 Shān Yū Roú Cornelian Cherry
Alisma plantago- 泽泻 Zé xiè- Water plantain tuber, Alisma
Poria cocos- 茯苓 Fú líng- Hoelen fungus
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Excessive Syndromes.
COMMENTS: This is a well balanced formuila to tonify the Kidney Yang. It can be safely used in the long term treatment of general weakness due to Kidney Yang deficiency.
