FUNCTIONS
1. Tonifies the Spleen and Stomach Qi and lifts up the sinking Yang
Qi of the middle Jiao.
INDICATIONS
1. Spleen and Stomach Qi deficiency and collapse middle Jiao
Qi: Internal organs prolapse, shortness of breath, disinclination to
talk, fatigue, pale complexion, weak voice, poor appetite, aversion to cold,
loose stools, abdominal pain, polyuria, lassitude, spontaneous sweating T- pale
or teeth marks on the edges with white and moist coat. P- Empty weak- which
is worse on exertion.
APPLICATIONS: Prolapse of stomach, uterus, kidney or rectum,
general debility after a severe illness, recurrent miscarriage, uterine bleeding,
leukorreha, post-partum disorders (e.g. urinary incontinence, insufficient lactation),
chronic bronchitis, chronic hepatitis, corneal ulcers, cerebral arteriosclerosis,
pernicious anemia, leukopenia, chronic nephritis, myasthenia gravis.

Bupleurum chinense- 柴胡 Chái
hú- Bupleurem root
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Excessive Syndromes, Yin deficiency.
COMMENTS: This is a Qi lifting formula and is used in cases
of organ prolapse due to Qi deficiency.
