FUNCTIONS
GROUP: Treat Dryness
1. Nourishes the Yin, moistens the Lungs, clears Heat, transforms Phlegm and alleviates coughing.
INDICATIONS
1. Lung and Kidney Yin deficiency with hyperactivity of Yang: Dry mouth, sore throat, coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, blood tinged sputum, hot sensation on soles and palms and hot sensation and discomfort of chest. T- Red with little coat. P- thready and rapid.
APPLICATIONS: Tuberculosis, bronchitis, pharyngitis, polyps of vocal chord, co pulmonale, silicosis.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: Spleen Qi deficiency with digestive problems and loose stools.
COMMENTS: Low dose long term use is indicated for chronic Lung conditions. Because of its cold and cloying nature, use in combination with Bao he wan- Citrus and Crataegus, for patients with digestive weakness.
